A DREAM COME TRUE

When Pastor Randall and Pastor Ava were teenagers, Grandma Beaty, through her passion for music, put together a band in the church where their dad pastored. In the 70’s, a band in the church with drums was unheard off. But soon her dream to pioneer a new idea became a reality. Every week, Mrs. Elnora would see that the ones who played an instrument in the church was at the 10:00 practice session on Saturday. Almost every Sunday, the band would play a special during some time in the service. Through her dedication to lead, many gifted individuals used their talents and had a lot of fun. Although Grandma Beaty never learned to play an instrument, she saw that others played theirs, When she would ask a person or a parent of a teenager if they would become a part of the band, the answer “NO” was not an option. And throughout the duration of their pastoral ministry, her heart was blessed weekly as she watched a dream come true; teens and adults using their talent for the LORD.

REFRESH AN OLD TALENT

Did you play an instrument when you were in school? Why not take the time, pick up your instrument, and join the church worship band.

A BLESSING FOR THE LORD

Just recently, a group of instruments were given to the church. All of the instruments are available to be used in the church praise and worship band. If you no longer have the instrument you played but are ready to step up and be a blessing for the Lord, let us know what you play and, if we do not have it, we will locate one for you. With just a little work, you will find yourself playing the instrument that you learned to play in your youth and enjoying it just as much as you did back then.
