Mark & Ava Laidler
Pastor Ava, an ordained elder, and her husband, Mark, moved to Searcy in 1995 and helped with the children’s ministries at the church when she was not traveling. In 2004, she became the full time Children’s Pastor for the church.
In 2013, Pastor Ava and her husband felt led to begin a mission ministry in the community of Garner. Each week on Sundays, (The Kid’s Bible Club @ 4:00), and Thursdays, (Teen Fellowship on Thursdays @ 5:00), they, along with some lay people, feed those who attend a meal in the former Garner Church of the Nazarene building and then share a Bible Lesson and a time of worship.
In 2021, Mark felt the call into full time ministry and began his journey toward ordination. He shares the WORD weakly in an Adult Bible Study during the Sunday School hour. In 2022, the North Arkansas District leadership appointed Mark and Ava as copastors of the Garner Church of the Nazarene and reactivated the ministry in the Garner Community.
Together, Mark and Ava continue to serve the Searcy Church of the Nazarene in many different ways as well as oversee the ministry at the Garner Church of the Nazarene.
